Demetri Catrakilis to Harlequins- Flyhalf to leave Montpellier

Harlequins have announced the signing of South African flyhalf Demetri Catrakilis from Montpellier. The No.10, who is currently part of the large South African contingent at MHRC, will link up with Quins from next season. No details regarding the duration of the contract was announced.

Catrakilis was part of the Montpellier side that beat Quins in the European Challenge Cup in May earlier this year. Sbura Sithole Audi S3 Car Crash- Sithole in Accident, but escapes injury

Natal Sharks backline player Sbura Sithole was involved in a car crash earlier today morning (Thursday November 6, 2016). His Audi S3 had a tyre burst and the car flipped (see picture below), but thankfully the player escaped injury.

Thomas du Toit to Munster- Sharks prop joins on three month loan

Munster have completed the signing of versatile Sharks prop Thomas du Toit on loan for a period of three months. Du Toit, a former Baby Bok representative, can operate on both sides of the scrum, but is said to be looking to cement his position as a tighthead and played mostly at 3 for the Sharks in the recently concluded Currie Cup.

South Africa were thin at 3 following the departure of Jannie du Plessis after the World Cup and loosehead prop (although not officially) is seen as a “coloured” position in some circles, with the likes of Beast Mtawarira, Trevor Nyakane and Lizo Gqoboka all in the running.
