Former Sharks hooker Bismarck du Plessis has become the proud father of twin boys- Francois and Gideon, earlier this week. The Bok star is plying his trade in France with Montpellier and could still be in the running for an RWC 2019 spot, especially with Adriaan Strauss having announced his retirement earlier this year.

Law 10.2 (c) example- player throws ball over dead ball line- Montpellier La Rochelle

An example of law 10.2 (c) in action during the recent Top 14 game between Montpellier and La Rochelle. Montpellier’s Frans Steyn missed a decisive penalty as his effort struck the bar, but in the ensuing moments, La Rochelle panicked and a player threw the ball over the dead ball line, resulting in a penalty being awarded to MHRC, which Ben Botica duly converted. Demetri Catrakilis to Harlequins- Flyhalf to leave Montpellier

Harlequins have announced the signing of South African flyhalf Demetri Catrakilis from Montpellier. The No.10, who is currently part of the large South African contingent at MHRC, will link up with Quins from next season. No details regarding the duration of the contract was announced.

Catrakilis was part of the Montpellier side that beat Quins in the European Challenge Cup in May earlier this year. Paul Jordaan to La Rochelle? Midfielder to leave Sharks

In what appears to be a major blow to the Sharks, midfielder Paul Jordaan is expected to leave the Durban based outfit for French side La Rochelle after Super Rugby. The 24 year old Jordaan, who can also play at wing, was a very talented junior, but hasn’t quite been able to translate it into a Bok call up, with injuries preventing him from having a consistent run at Super Rugby level.
