Here are crowds for home games involving South African franchises Emirates Lions (Johannesburg based) and the Vodacom Bulls (Pretoria based) for the 2017 Super Rugby season. The Lions were runners up in 2016 while the Bulls are the only RSA based franchise to win Super Rugby (2007, 2009 and 2010)

The Cheetahs recorded their biggest ever Super Rugby win as they thrash the Sunwolves 92-17 in this game in Bloemfontein on April 15, 2016. Sergeal Petersen and Paul Schoeman with three tries each for Free State while Torsten van Jaarsveld, Francois Venter, Uzair Cassiem, Raymond Rhule, Shaun Venter, Hilton Lobberts, Clayton Blommetjies and Jacques du Toit all scored one try each.
The 92-17 win equalled the points scored by the Pretoria based Blue Bulls when they beat the Queensland Reds 92-3 back in 2007.
