In what appears to be a major blow to the Sharks, midfielder Paul Jordaan is expected to leave the Durban based outfit for French side La Rochelle after Super Rugby. The 24 year old Jordaan, who can also play at wing, was a very talented junior, but hasn’t quite been able to translate it into a Bok call up, with injuries preventing him from having a consistent run at Super Rugby level.
Jordaan joins the likes of Marcell Coetzee (Ulster) and JP Pietersen (Leicester Tigers) in the list of major players to leave Durban at the conclusion of this season’s Super season.
The Sharks have other options at 13- Sbura Sithole did quite well when given the jumper in Jake White’s season, with Wandile Mjekevu also an option.
