The South African national rugby union team suffered their biggest ever defeat in a competitive fixture as they were humbled 57-0 by New Zealand at the QBE Stadium in front of 30,021 fans on September 16, 2017.

This Bok defeat saw Allister Coetzee’s men humbled by 57 points, beating the previous record loss that England inflicted upon them (53-3) back in 2002 (the game where the Boks had Jannes Labuschagne sent off). However the Springboks played for the full 80 with fifteen men.

The Springboks’ heaviest defeat at home also came with Coetzee in charge last year, when they lost 57-15 in Durban in October 2016.
