Heimar Williams Retires 2016- Sharks centre calls it a day

Young Sharks centre Heimar Williams has decided to retire from rugby and pursue a career as a chartered accountant. Williams, predominantly a 12, who has also been used at 13 and sometimes 10 by the Sharks, passed his ITC exam in January this year.

Williams was viewed in Durban as a useful back up player- a solid enough centre to be on the fringes of the Super Rugby squad, but wasn’t a regular starter, having first sat behind Frans Steyn and then Andre Esterhuizen in the queue.

The Sharks inside centre options are looking a little thin this moment, with Esterhuizen their only major option, but we might see Marius Louw being promoted from the junior squads. Other options at outside centre include Lukhanyo Am, Jeremy Ward and Sbura Sithole
