Heimar Williams Retires 2016- Sharks centre calls it a day
Young Sharks centre Heimar Williams has decided to retire from rugby and pursue a career as a chartered accountant. Williams, predominantly a 12, who has also been used at 13 and sometimes 10 by the Sharks, passed his ITC exam in January this year.
Williams was viewed in Durban as a useful back up player- a solid enough centre to be on the fringes of the Super Rugby squad, but wasn’t a regular starter, having first sat behind Frans Steyn and then Andre Esterhuizen in the queue.
The Sharks inside centre options are looking a little thin this moment, with Esterhuizen their only major option, but we might see Marius Louw being promoted from the junior squads.
