Dan Vickerman suicide? Did Wallaby lock take his own life?
The rugby world is in mourning at the death of former Wallaby lock Dan Vickerman. The former Bishops old boy, born in Cape Town, was found dead at his home in Sydney on Saturday night. While the cause of death has not been officially announced, newspaper are carrying helpline numbers at the bottom of their articles and are also reporting that “it is believed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death”
This therefore looks like a case of suicide, although no newspaper has gone on record to say so.
37 year old Vickerman earned 63 caps for the Wallabies and was part of the Australian World Cup squads in 2003, 2007 and 2011. He played for the Brumbies and Waratahs in Super Rugby and Northampton Saints in the AVIVA Premiership.
