Baby Bok JWC 2017 Squad Announced- South Africa U20 Team World Rugby Championship

South Africa have announced their squad for the upcoming U20 World Rugby Championship in Georgia. The team, coached by Chean Roux, is dominated by Western Province and the Blue Bulls, and features only two Sharks representatives- fly half Curwin Bosch and scrummie Faf de Villiers.

Skipper Ernst van Rhyn, Bosch, Props Kwenzo Blose (Free State) and Carlu Sadie (WP), Blitzboks Zain Davids and Stedman Gans, scrumhalf Embrose Papier and versatile back Manie Libbok are the survivors from last year’s squad.

Jaguares vs Sharks Super Rugby Review- Sharks become first side to win in Argentina in 2017

The Sharks became the first team to win in Argentina in Super Rugby this season when they got the better of the Jaguares. The reverse fixture at Kings Park earlier this season had been a tight one, and given the disastrous performance that the Sharks produced at home against the Rebels (9-9 draw that would be a sure contender for one of THE worst games in SR history), few expected them to brave the odds and win in Buenos Aires.

However, it’s become a bit of a habit for the Sharks to buck the trend in recent times- they play well against top class opposition and make a hash of games against easier teams. And that’s what precisely happened in Argentina. This bad Andre Esterhuizen tackle on Naivalu saw the Sharks inside centre being sent off in their clash against the Rebels at Kings Park.

The Klerksdorp born No.12 has been an influential figure for the Sharks over the last couple of seasons after the departure of Frans Steyn and has formed a formidable centre pairing with Lukhanyo Am. He’s practically been playing non stop for the Sharks in the last year- the fans were asking for him to take a break, but perhaps not this way!
