New SARPA President 2016- Eben Etzebeth replaces Bismarck du Plessis

Stormers and Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth has been named as the new SARPA president (South African Rugby Players Association) for 2016, replacing Sharks hooker Bismarck du Plessis, who has moved north to join Montpellier.

It’s a massive honour for me to be entrusted with the responsibility of representing professional players in South Africa in this manner

Bismarck has done a sterling job representing all professional players over the past five years and I aim to continue the legacy he has left behind.

Under his leadership, our organisation has made huge strides, which have contributed to the organisation’s efforts in creating a better environment for professional rugby players in South Africa

Pat Lambie Injury Latest News February 2016- Sharks flyhalf to be out for 6-8 weeks

Edit- 16 February, 2016– Sharks medical team have confirmed that Lambie will be out for 12 weeks (3 months). Ruan Botha and Franna Kleinhans will be also on the sidelines for a similar duration

Patrick Lambie picked up a shoulder injury in the Sharks’ recent friendly win (29-21) over RC Toulon, and the Durban based outfit have been rocked by the news that the Springbok flyhalf is expected to be out for close to two months.
