Seabelo Senatla became South Africa’s record try scorer in rugby sevens when he scored his 180th try in the Wellington 7’s final against Fiji. South Africa won 26-5 to clinch their first 7’s title in New Zealand since 2002.
Senatla’s 180th try means that he broke the long standing record of Fabian Juries, who previously headed the list with 179.
Senatla also won Player of the Final at the Welly 7’s and topped HSBC’s performance tracker for the tournament ahead of Pouli Teaupa and Billy Odhiambo.
